THE PICTURES EXPLAINED.
A: Alex's Auntie Ellen, who was also at the Blue Coat. She was born
in 1902, so would be about 13 when the picture was taken in 1915
B: Alex's uncle, John Alexander Copeland, born 1905 and also pictured
in 1915 whilst a pupil at the school.
C Beaumaris 1945. Alex is standing second from the right with his
arms folded.
D. 1945 at the top of Snowdon. Alex is shading his eyes. Knight is
behind him, Emery Jnr and Armstrong in centre, Tommy Hughes
with arms folded.
E. Top of Snowdon in 1945 with Mr Jackson, who had recently returned
from the Desert Rats' campaign.
F. In the mist at the top of Snowdon in 1945.
G. Hiking in Wales, 1945.
H. 1945 - Alex is far left of the back row.
I. Back in Liverpool after the war a Scout Troop was formed. Tommy
Hughes is in the middle wearing a hat.
